Christmas is celebrated by the Christian communities all over the world; this occasion is celebrated in order to pay tribute to Jesus Christ – Christmas is celebrated on 25th of December that is the date of birth of Jesus Christ.

Christmas preparation includes a lot of things; from preparing the traditional Christmas meals to buying perfect gifts for friends and families – the festival is all about expressing love in a unique way. People stay busy in shopping during the Christmas times and it stays a hot topic for a month. Exchanging of the gifts is one of the main Christmas traditions; whether it’s a cute toy for a child or a stunning suit for a man – Christmas gifts are always appreciated. The main decorations for the big day includes Christmas trees, jingle bells, door hangings, lights, garlands, mistletoe and holly. Several entertaining events and carnivals are held during Christmas; it’s that time of year when the whole city is decorated with vibrant lighting, Christmas trees and as Christmas appears in winters; most of the cities see snowfalls – in many western cities, children enjoying making and decorating snowman during Christmas. 

Christmas Dinners around the World:

Christmas meals are highly enjoyable; during the occasion, many people host family dinners, which exclusively includes traditional Christmas dishes such as roasted turkey, pudding, cake and pie. Different countries have their own different traditional Christmas dishes, for example, people in Brazil enjoy eating roasted pork and far of a during their Christmas dinner whereas dishes such as Christmas pudding, gingerbread man and houses, doughnuts, and cranberry sauce are the main items accompanied by a mouth-watering roasted turkey during a dinner in Canada. Christmas dinners are highly hosted in countries such as Australia, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, France and Finland.  

The Best Time for Children:

Christmas is highly popular amongst the children; this is the time, when they receive charming presents from the adults of the families. Santa Clause is one of the notable Christmas figure; it’s believed by the children that if they behave like good kids all year, then they’d be receiving gifts by the Santa Clause on Christmas. In some countries, Santa Clauses do visit houses and give gifts to the children. Christmas also famous because of the sweets, chocolates and candy canes; these are symbolic Christmas treats and are highly appreciated by small children. Many TV channels broadcast Christmas themed programs such as cartoons, musicals and movies, exclusively for the occasion.

Christmas Gifts:

People do a lot for their loved ones at this time of the year; many spend the day by visiting their old relatives and parents, whereas most of the people prefer spending Christmas at home with their family. People usually send flowers as gifts during Christmas; most of the people prefer gifting valuable items such as gold rings and necklaces. Greeting cards and chocolates are the common gifts, however, teddy bears and new clothes are also amongst the most famous Christmas gifts.

Teenagers and young men/women prefer wishing their loved ones by sending Christmas text messages. Most of them send e-card via internet; Christmas SMS can also be sent via internet.
